Tracking lists every keyword the project monitors, one card per keyword. This is where you manage what gets checked.
Add keywords
Click Add Keywords to open the panel.
Enter your keywords
The Keywords box is a multi-line textarea. Separate keywords with commas to add several at once:Each comma-separated value is trimmed and empty entries are dropped, so trailing commas and stray spaces are harmless. Line breaks are not separators — only commas are. Set Location
Defaults to United States. Searchable dropdown of roughly 185 locations.
Set Language
Defaults to English. Around 65 options.
Set Search Engine
Google (default), Bing, or Yahoo.
Click Add Keywords
All keywords in the box are added with the same location, language, and search engine. A confirmation names how many were added.
To track one keyword in two markets, add it twice — once per location. They’re tracked as separate keywords with separate histories.
New keywords show a Pending badge until their first check completes.
Reading a keyword card
Each card shows:
- The keyword, with either a Pending badge or
Checked 3 hours ago
- The current position in large type, or
— when it doesn’t rank
- The change since the previous check, with an up, down, or flat arrow
- Vol: monthly search volume, when known
- The ranking URL — which of your pages actually ranks, which is often not the one you expected
- An AI Overview badge when Google returned an AI Overview for this keyword. It reads AI Cited in green if your domain was cited in it, or AI Overview in purple if the overview appeared without you
Click a card to open its history.
Active and All
The toggle in the header switches between Active (the default) and All. Paused keywords are hidden under Active and shown dimmed under All.
Pause a keyword
Use the switch on the card. Pausing stops future rank checks but keeps all collected history — flip it back on and checking resumes, leaving a gap in the chart for the paused period.
Pause rather than delete when you’re at your keyword limit but might want the keyword back. Note that a paused keyword still counts toward your plan’s tracked-keyword limit.
Edit a keyword
Click the pencil icon to reopen the panel in edit mode.
Only Location and Language are saved by the edit form. The Keyword text and Search Engine fields are editable on screen but are not submitted — changes to them are silently discarded. To change a keyword’s text or search engine, remove it and add it again.
Changing location or language doesn’t rewrite history. Past positions keep the locale they were collected under, so the chart spans two different search markets across the change.
Remove a keyword
Click the trash icon and confirm. Removal is permanent — the keyword and its entire position history are deleted and can’t be recovered. If you might want the data later, pause it instead.
Export
Export appears in the header once you have at least one keyword, and downloads your tracked keywords with their current positions.
AI Overview summary
When any tracked keyword has AI Overview data, three cards appear above the list:
Plan limits
Tracked keywords are capped per plan. At the limit, Add Keywords greys out with a padlock and the tooltip “Upgrade to track more keywords”, and an upgrade prompt pins to the bottom of the page.
Every tracked keyword is a recurring cost: a daily-frequency project checks all of them every day. Reducing frequency on Tracking → Overview is often better than removing keywords. See Plans.
Empty state
A project with no keywords shows No tracked keywords — “Add keywords to monitor their search engine rankings” — with an Add Keywords button. Projects created through the normal flow always start with at least one keyword, since project creation requires one.
