Create your account
Sign up at app.surnex.io. Verify your email address, then sign back in.
2
Create an organization
Give your organization a name. Everything in Surnex — projects, team members, billing, API keys — belongs to an organization, and you can belong to more than one.You can invite teammates now or later from Settings → Team. See Roles and permissions for what each role can do.
3
Add your first project
A project is one domain you want to track. You’ll need:
- Domain — the site to track, for example
example.com - Location — the country or city whose search results you want to measure
- Language — the language of the search results
4
Add keywords to track
Open Keywords to find ideas with volume and difficulty, and bookmark the ones worth pursuing — they collect on Saved keywords as a shortlist. Then add the ones you want checked daily on the Tracking page. Saving and tracking are separate steps: a saved keyword isn’t monitored until you add it to tracking.
5
Add competitors
Add the domains you compete with on Competitors. Surnex measures them on the same keywords as you, which powers position comparisons and the backlink gap.
6
Wait for the first data pull
Creating a project queues the initial collection run — rankings, backlinks, a site audit, domain metrics, web vitals, AI search, and local visibility. Keyword and ranking data usually lands within minutes; a full site audit takes longer on large sites. The project dashboard fills in as each job finishes. You don’t need to keep the page open.
